In moving from error to error we will find a new solution that manages to synthesize the good qualities of the previous solutions to make something really new, different and better.

In the background of this piece Bach’s double from Partita No.1 for violin is lurking. It sort of forms a basis of the vast preponderance of materials that are distributed in a large number of through-composed layers. But when unfolding it, the material appears nowhere in the musical phenomenon itself, having been suppressed by a formal filtering operation. In relation, Bach’s piece is the moment of the shortest shadow; the thing itself. This does not mean that the two become one, but, rather, that one becomes two. Why? The thing no longer throws its shadow upon another thing; instead, it throws its shadow upon itself. Zwischen der kürzeste Schatten was written in response to a request from Roberto Alonso Trillo, to whom it is also dedicated.
